Dr. Yu Zhang joined the IT Product Line of Huawei in January, 2014, and is now the architect of Huawei FusionSphere OpenStack. Moreover, Dr. Zhang is one of the kernel members of Huawei public cloud solution design team, and participated the design and delivery of a number of Huawei public cloud cases, including both Huawei Enterprise Cloud and Deutsche Telekom Open Telekom Cloud.Before joining Huawei, Dr. Zhang worked for IBM Research as a research scientist, focusing on the computer system area.Dr. Zhang received both of his bachelor’s and doctor’s degree from the Electronic Engineering Department of Tsinghua Univ. in 2002 and 2007 respectively.
Building up an enterprise-oriented public cloud based on OpenStack, is a system engineering project full of technical challenges.Except for matching the requirements of feasibility, SLA, cost and time-to-market, the solution design team should focus on a number of key requirements including reliability, scalability, easy-to-maintain and API openness, and find reasonable and practical solutions for them.This presentation will share Huawei’s thinking, technical decisions and lessons learned from its public cloud cases, including Huawei Enterprise Cloud and Deutsche Telekom Open Telekom Cloud.
