Hongbin is currently a Senior Software Engineer in Huawei Technologies. He is serving as the Project Team Lead (PTL) for OpenStack Magnum project in Newton release cycle. He is also the founder/core reviewer of the Zun project (a new container service for OpenStack). His expertise including container related technologies, application deployment and management, and cloud computing.
Currently, there are several container related projects at OpenStack. In Big Tent, there are Magnum, Kolla, Kuryr, Murano. There is also a new project called Zun (ex. Higgins). In addition, there are drivers/plugins for existing projects, such as nova-docker, nova-lxc, nova-lxd, Heat docker plugin, etc. The projects above provide several ways to leverage containers at OpenStack. It would be helpful to understand each project, including its mission, functionality, targeted use cases, architecture, roadmaps. At this talk, we will introduce each project and their relationships. We will give suggestions on how to leverage each project to address various use cases.
